| Hard to believe it's already July. This years is really going by fast. Well, it's Summer and that means I gotta deal with the Summer heat. And right now, I'm not getting much help from my A/C since it's been on the fritz. I try not to use it as much as possible. So instead, I got a fan. A really small mini-fan but so far, it's been alright. In addition, Summer time in Japan means new Summer drinks from the vending machines here. Here are a few of the ones I've been drinking in the past couple of months. Apple Qoo is probably my favorite out of all these drinks. And sometimes it's hard to tell with Apple Qoo...because sometimes I feel the taste is too sugary sweet whereas other times I feel it is just right. Maybe it depends on how thirsty I am though. ^^ Grape jelly as a drink was pretty interesting. It definitely makes you feel cool in the heat. Mugicha is always great! Very refreshing. The sparkling pink lemonade, however, was a mistake. I didn't realize it was sparkling at the time I bought it. Thought it was just regular lemonade. Too bad. But it was okay. I'm just not that into sparkling drinks. | |

| Haven't been able to do all the things I wanted to the past few days because of some computer glitches. And on top of that got problems with my A/C. Argh...(>---<) So, I'm hoping this Summer won't be too scorching hot. It'll be another month before I get to have Summer vacation too. So, I'm really envying you guys who are on it now. haha This is one of the first few pictures I took with my new camera. It's an area near where I live. Hope I can take alot of pictures this Summer. Also, I'm still hooked on Lalola. I can't help but LOL about her dreams about Sergio discovering that she's a man. They're too hilarious. Loved the one where she was in jail and Sergio appeared and she was all happy to see him there. She confessed that she loved him and was like kiss me and Sergio was all "...It's that I'm no so sure I should. I've never kissed someone of the same sex as me, you know." Lola: You know? You know that I'm Lalo. Sergio: Lalo? Lola, you're acting really strange... Lola: (desperately insisting} Sergio, please! Kiss me, Kiss me..." LOL. Also loved the part where Lola is acting like Natalia with the pillow. It kind of reminded me of Tom Hanks in CastAway talking to the ball. LOL. Seriously, Marina is an awesome actress. Love her! | |

| LOL. I'm really getting a kick out of Lalo's mother visiting Lalo only to find herself face to face with Lola. XD Even though when she was Lalo he didn't really keep in contact with his mother much, he really missed her when he first changed into Lola. And one of the first things he wanted to do was call his mother but when he did, she didn't recognize him. She could only reply "I think you're mistaken, I don't have a daughter. Pobrecito!
And Poor Lola is so happy now that his mom has made a surprise visit. I kind of want her to tell his mom about all that had happened and how he IS Lalo. But, let's see what happens from here on. ^^
This novela is just so hilarious. Just the line of Lalo as Lola telling Paula about his mom being at the apartment: "I told her I was my girlfriend." ROFL. That's definitely not a line you hear everyday.

| lalola.
I love this series! It's probably my favorite teleserie ever!! Yes, it has even surpassed Betty la fea and Patito Feo for me. haha lalola is a telenovela that originated from Argentina. The novela is about a man named Gonzalo "Lalo" Padilla. Lalo is a confident and sucessful businessman. Yes, he's on top of his game. But he's also on top of .....women. LOL. You see, Lalo is a bit of a seductor, a womanizer, a playa. x3 And he's also a bit of a pig--quite inconsiderate of what women have to go through and their feelings.
One day he gets involved with a very dangerous, perhaps slightly twisted woman, Romina. Romina was expecting much more from Lalo than a one-night stand. Unforunately, Lalo Padilla is not the type of man to stick to one woman for a long time. He just doesn't commit. After calling Lalo back several times to continue from where they left-off the night before, Romina has had the last straw with Lalo and decides to teach him a lesson. Of course, this is when things get really, really interesting.
Do you believe in witchcraft?
Perturbed by Lalo's behavior toward her, Romina comissions the help of a witch to form a spell to change Lalo into a woman. The next morning, Lalo wakes up to find that he has become Lola. Lola is basically Lalo, a man now trapped in a woman's body. jaja. From here on out, Lalo will learn what it's like to be a woman. He will have to deal with the trials and tribulations of being a woman in the business world and the regular world. Luckily, he has his best friend and soulmate, Paula, to depend on for help in understanding how to behave and dress as a woman. Paula is the only other person, besides Romina, who knows of Lalo/Lola's secret. Until he can find Romina and the witch to change him back to Lalo, he has no other choice but to become Lola.
Furthermore, there's kind of a square going on between Paula who loves Lalo who is Lola who is falling in love with Sergio who is in love with Lola. I'm puzzled at how Lola will resolve the issue of one day possibly telling Sergio that he's/she's Lalo. Ugh....it's so hard talking about Lalo and Lola because they're the same person and then I'm like should I use he or she. lol Such gender confusion and Lola goes through the same thing. Because she'll talk about herself using masculine adjectives and stuff which of course, adds to the comedy. But yeah it's kind of easier just to say "La Lola" since that at least has both their names. X3
Check out this preview for the show. This is the Argentinian version of the telenovela but for those of you who don't know Spanish, this has English subtitles. ^--^ Really check it out, it's hilarious!
jaja, I love the part where she's in the men's restroom and says " Bueno, me equivoque! Me equivoque! Que no puedo?! XD
Right now, I'm watching the Spanish version of this telecomedia. So most of my summary supplies the Spanish version of the character's names. But eventually, I'd like to see more of the original Argentinian version as the Argentinian version is what got me interested in seeing this series in the first place. Plus, it's original and I've seen the first episode. The actress who plays Lola is really hilarious.
It's kind of funny because I've been watching an Argentinian telenovela for the past couple of months, so I was able to really pick up on the Argentinian accent and colloquialisms. But now that I've been watching Spanish novela, I've really become accustomed to the Spanish accent and colloquialisms. It's pretty cool to hear and pick up on the differences. And I love both accents. jaja Love practicing using the "theta" sound as well. It's really starting to become second nature now.
I also love how the title is like play on words. lalola can be read "Lalo"and "Lola" or it can be read La Lola. Thought that was pretty creative.

| "Every war is absurd and meaningless..." So true!
And such words give us all pause to think. Elie Weisel really gave a powerful speech today. It is unbelievably sad that even in this day in age, we are still a world with wars in it. I can only hope that all the world leaders & all the world's people, will have understood what Weisel was trying to say and that they feel inspired to make peace with their enemies.

| I was supposed to get some errands done today but I guess that'll have to wait until another weekend. Unfortunately, it's raining again. I suppose Rainy Season has begun which sucks cause I lack rain gear and the like. I'd really like to get me some rain boots. Hopefully I can find some cheap comfortable ones. A poncho and an umbrella that I can carry in my purse would be pretty nice to have too. I went to Segafredo last night. I had work all day yesterday and after work I went to Shinjuku to stop by Kinokuniya. There were some books I wanted to get but couldn't find them there. I suppose I'll have to just get them from Amazon now.... Woah, just realized I got sidetracked while writing this entry thanks to my sister... Anyways, after I came back from Shinjuku, I felt like getting some coffee so we went to Segafredo and I got a Blood Orange Granita which was delicious. I know I wanted coffee but I couldn't resist to have a granita. They're so good. Highly recommend them! In the cafe, we read the books that we had previously bought from Kinokuniya. I bought 子連れオオカミ manga - couldn't resist a story about two fathers and their sons. I don't know but lately I've been reading a lot of stories like that. haha If not father and son, then it's older brother and baby brother. haha. I also got The Blue Desert by You Hizaki which will probably take me forever to read because it's a novel. But I need the practice. X3 Then, there's the JLPT book I bought and Photography Essentials. So, I'm gonna have a lot to read this month. I wanted to buy another novel in Spanish and English. I was thinking of getting The Alchemist but foreign books are so expensive here. I decided to wait. | |

| I really, really, REALLY hate Barbie! Who the heck does she think she is?!?! The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was going as planned and she just rushes in at the end to destroy it. aRghhh! I know she can't possibly be Leandro's daughter. She is far too evil and not in a good way. I demand a DNA test ahora mismo!!! Grrrr... | |
|
| No lo creo. No lo creo. NO LO CREO!!
No way Leandro has another daughter. There is just no way! That's so friggin' absurd!! I think this woman has gotta be lying. p(>0<)p I definitely won't believe it until I see a DNA test verifying that this is true.
Ayyy...Leandro why do you have to be so irresistible to all the women you meet. Dang it, you pimp you!!
. . . . .
. . . . .
LOL. Yet, we still love you. hahahaa- Tags:telenovela

| Aaaah~! Nothing beats cold udon and a cup of cool tea on a hot Summer day. Although it's only Spring, lately the weather has felt alot like Summer weather. Well, except for the nice cool respite we've been having during the past week. Recently, it suddenly changed back to the cool Spring weather that we're more accustomed to here in Japan during this time of the year. And actually, I'm really not looking forward to another hot and humid Summer. [Especially, with the Summer rush hours....>0<] So, I'm enjoying the cool, breezy days while they're here. I've recently been having cravings for cold udon. And during Golden Week, I was lucky enough to chow down on some. There's this really nice place in Shinjuku near the South exit that has delicious Japanese cuisine, offered in 定食(set meal) form. My sister and I discovered it last September. It's called Yayoiken and it's a short distance past Kinokuniya, just before you reach Yoyogi Stn. I recommend to anyone who visits the Shinjuku area to try it out. The prices are reasonable and you get free extra helpings of rice, if you so desire. ^D^ And seeing as I'm a huge rice fan, that's a plus. - Tags:food
