...and still adjusting to the time difference and not having A/C in this dreadful Summer heat and humidity.
Can't believe my vacation is almost over. Don't wanna go back to work yet. :(

I took a lot of pictures. Need to get a new External HD so I can back them up. Really enjoyed being back at home and relaxing for a change. I really needed the downtime. I only wish vacation could last until October. X3

Anyhow, these particular pictures are from Narita Airport before we left in July. There was a display of an Airbus A380 surrounded by a circle of  other small little airplanes. Was pretty cool!

I was lucky enough to walk into the station when the Rapid for Ikebukuro pulled in. I love the Rapid cuz they're new trains. And the way they position the seats makes it feel like the Shinkansen.

I also saw something really special while on the train. X3

I saw a rainbow today. haha. It was really cool. You could see it all the way from Shiki to Ikebukuro. The colors within it included red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Unfortunately, I only had my keitai camera with me so this is the best picture I could take. And the train was moving so...

Oh, besides being on a train today... I was...

on a boat!

Of course, it wasn't a real boat. Although, I wish it was. I've been wanting to go on one for months now. But actually, this was all a result of having won janken with my sister when we were deciding where to eat. [info]_miyuchan_  didn't want to choose, so it was up to the two of us.

We had narrowed the choices down to udon or steak and I chose steak.
I actually rarely ever eat steak here in Japan. And when I do, it's usually at Outback Steak House or Pepper Lunch. But anyway, we went to this place in Sunshine City called Big Chef.
I had the Saikoro Steak Pilaf which was diced up steak on rice pilaf on top of a hot plate. But the hot plate wasn't the kind that cooked the meat while serving which I had expected it to be. I usually eat my steak well-done so I thought that having to eat medium-rare steak would be a problem but actually it wasn't. I surprisingly liked it and the steak was nice and soft and fluffy in the mouth. Now I understand what they mean when I see those food shows on Japanese tv. Seriously, they're always eating rare steak and commenting at how soft and fluffy it is. Now I understand.

Since I got the set, it also came with soup and salad. And for a drink I tried the Ichigo Squash. The drink wasn't too bad but it tasted a bit carbonated and I'm not too much of a fan of carbonated juice unless it's orange soda. But overall, this place was nice and different. It's good to explore other places in Ikebukuro since I go there so often. And we pass this place all the time, just never thought about eating there. So, I think it was a nice experience.

The funniest part is that we didn't even realize until after we had eaten that we were eating on a boat. But the most ironic thing was that we were eating meat on a boat and not fish or any other seafood. That gave us a pretty good laugh.

Hard to believe it's already July. This years is really going by fast.

Well, it's Summer and that means I gotta deal with the Summer heat.
And right now, I'm not getting much help from my A/C since it's been on the fritz.
I try not to use it as much as possible. So instead, I got a fan. A really small mini-fan but so far, it's been alright.

In addition, Summer time in Japan means new Summer drinks from the vending machines here. Here are a few of the ones I've been drinking in the past couple of months.

Apple Qoo is probably my favorite out of all these drinks. And sometimes it's hard to tell with Apple Qoo...because sometimes I feel the taste is too sugary sweet whereas other times I feel it is just right. Maybe it depends on how thirsty I am though. ^^

Grape jelly as a drink was pretty interesting. It definitely makes you feel cool in the heat. Mugicha is always great! Very refreshing. The sparkling pink lemonade, however, was a mistake. I didn't realize it was sparkling at the time I bought it. Thought it was just regular lemonade. Too bad. But it was okay. I'm just not that into sparkling drinks.

Haven't been able to do all the things I wanted to the past few days because of some computer glitches. And on top of that got problems with my A/C. Argh...(>---<)
So, I'm hoping this Summer won't be too scorching hot.

It'll be another month before I get to have Summer vacation too. So, I'm really envying you guys who are on it now. haha

This is one of the first few pictures I took with my new camera. It's an area near where I live.
Hope I can take alot of pictures this Summer.

Also, I'm still hooked on Lalola.
I can't help but LOL about her dreams about Sergio discovering that she's a man. They're too hilarious. Loved the one where she was in jail and Sergio appeared and she was all happy to see him there. She confessed that she loved him and was like kiss me and Sergio was all "...It's that I'm no so sure I should. I've never kissed someone of the same sex as me, you know." Lola: You know? You know that I'm Lalo. Sergio: Lalo? Lola, you're acting really strange... Lola: (desperately insisting} Sergio, please! Kiss me, Kiss me..." LOL.

Also loved the part where Lola is acting like Natalia with the pillow. It kind of reminded me of Tom Hanks in CastAway talking to the ball. LOL. Seriously, Marina is an awesome actress. Love her!

"Every war is absurd and meaningless..."

So true!

And such words give us all pause to think. Elie Weisel really gave a powerful speech today. It is unbelievably sad that even in this day in age, we are still a world with wars in it.
I can only hope that all the world leaders & all the world's people, will have understood what Weisel was trying to say and that they feel inspired to make peace with their enemies.

I was supposed to get some errands done today but I guess that'll have to wait until another weekend. Unfortunately, it's raining again. I suppose Rainy Season has begun which sucks cause I lack rain gear and the like. I'd really like to get me some rain boots. Hopefully I can find some cheap comfortable ones. A poncho and an umbrella that I can carry in my purse would be pretty nice to have too.

I went to Segafredo last night. I had work all day yesterday and after work I went to Shinjuku to stop by Kinokuniya. There were some books I wanted to get but couldn't find them there. I suppose I'll have to just get them from Amazon now....Woah, just realized I got sidetracked while writing this entry thanks to my sister... Anyways, after I came back from Shinjuku, I felt like getting some coffee so we went to Segafredo and I got a Blood Orange Granita which was delicious. I know I wanted coffee but I couldn't resist to have a granita. They're so good. Highly recommend them!

In the cafe, we read the books that we had previously bought from Kinokuniya. I bought 子連れオオカミ manga - couldn't resist a story about two fathers and their sons. I don't know but lately I've been reading a lot of stories like that. haha If not father and son, then it's older brother and baby brother. haha.

I also got The Blue Desert by You Hizaki which will probably take me forever to read because it's a novel. But I need the practice. X3

Then, there's the JLPT book I bought and Photography Essentials. So, I'm gonna have a lot to read this month. I wanted to buy another novel in Spanish and English. I was thinking of getting The Alchemist but foreign books are so expensive here. I decided to wait.

Happened upon these little creatures/gadgets in Odaiba during Golden Week.
They were really cute. I think they basically dance while playing music. Of course, they were moving up and down all over the place. So naturally, they reminded me of Haro.

In other news, I was so tired today. I slept about half the day away. Need to develop better sleep habits on work days.

If you have not heard this woman sing, you are missing out!
You can watch ----> here.
If you need proof that a simple voice can change everything, you only need watch that video. x3

I bet all those girls caught on camera making those faces feel really guilty now.
Even before I heard her sing, I was wondering why people were already prejudging her.
It definitely goes to show that you must never judge a book by its cover.
It was great seeing how everybody changed their mood after she started to sing.

It would be great if she actually could do the part of Fantine in Les Mis. Although, with her new found popularity I wouldn't be surprised if that'll be her next step.

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter Sunday.

As for me, I had a rather relaxing day. I went to 6pm Mass at the Franciscan Chapel Center. It's been a while since I've been there, so it was nice to be there again after so long. The choir is hecka good. So, I really enjoyed singing.

I really should go to Mass more often. It's just so difficult to get out of bed on Sundays. The chapel is all the way in Roppongi so it's a bit far from where I live. It would be nice if there was a Catholic Church where I live. It would be so much easier that way. But alas, this is Japan. So I have to make do with what I've got.

Anyhow, I caught up with all the eps of my telenovela. I'm so loving it! It's pretty much my favorite show, at the moment. It's hard to wait for the next episodes, even though I just have to wait 2 more days. x3

Hanami in April

So Spring has finally arrived in Japan and with that comes one of the most beautiful events nature has to offer during this time of the year --- the blossoming of the sakura trees.
In Japan, this means party time. Hundreds of people travel to the park and have little picnics under the tree.

Being from the metro DC area, I'm used to seeing these trees every year. But still, it's great to hang out with everyone and take in beauty of it all.

Beautiful Hanami )

This, my friends, is my new phone.

I bought it on Saturday and since then have been like a kid who just got a new toy.
So basically, I've been playing around with it and checking out all the different features. It's a huge upgrade from my old phone (of which, the battery was dying and I was just getting sick of looking at it...it's nice to have a bit of change).

I was originally thinking of getting the F906i or the SH-04a. Unfortunately, they didn't have anymore F906i models at the shop I went to in Shibuya. They did have the SH-04a, but I decided against getting it because I was afraid it'd be easily breakable if dropped. And, in general, I figured it'd be more convenient just to get a flip phone.

Since F906i was unavailable, they showed me the SH-01a since they were sort of similar to each other. The features are pretty sweet, too.

I love this phone!  )
The only danger with such a cool phone is that I've been playing around with it so much. I kind of worry about my phone bill for this month. haha. I've been using i-mode like crazy. haha

Many things have been going on lately.
Not so much time to post.
Although, I really did want to post something earlier today.
But then found out some bad news.

Will be trying to make an emergency trip to the Phils next week. Wish it was already vacation time. (>~<)

Ugh...I was supposed to be cleaning my room today but I ended up just procrastinating the whole time. I haven't even been able to watch all the shows that I wanted to catch up on. :(

I had a really cool weekend but, as always, wish it was even longer.
I just have far too much to do.

Gonna start up my J-class again tomorrow. I'm so bad since I didn't study at all during the vacation. Well I did practice some kanji but not enough.
I really need to get back into the habit of writing in my planner again. I've rarely been using it the past few months.

In other news, I reached a milestone in playing RO. I actually gathered up the courage to splurge what little zeny I did have and buy Missy AWE and a +5 Khalitz Guard. Generally my armor and weapons tend to suck since I'm so darn poor but at least now I don't have to waste money on blue gems anymore. I'm not really sure if the Khalitz makes all that much more difference from using the Brutal Guard I had for Niff but I'll see soon enough.

I spent most of the day just drawing.
I even opened up an old drawing I had worked on in OC. I was trying to redo the lines in PS though.

I haven't been using OC in so long, I had forgotten how to use it. Seriously, I'm so rusty at it. >.<

OK, OK. I better go figure out what I'm wearing tomorrow and then head to bed.

Btw, if you're reading this, for those waiting for the scans ~ I'm sorry I'm so late sending them out. I hope you don't mind waiting a bit more as I'm not sure if I'll have time until later this week at the earliest...if I'm lucky. =X

I'm back in Japan. Actually I've been so for a couple of weeks now but it took me a week to get over the jet lag.

I kept sleeping from 9pm-4pm or so. But it's great to back to normal time now.
It was also a bit weird to be back here. Had to get used to everything again.

Going back to work was tough too. I was getting used to vacation life, afterall. xD If only it could've lasted longer.

I haven't been watching any anime since I've been back since most of the time I've been sleeping when I'm at home.
However, I did manage to finish reading vol 5 and 6 of Uwasa no Midorikun. I'm anxious to read the next volume but I probly won't get the next volume until I visit Animate again...hopefully some time this weekend.
In the meantime, I'll try to catch up on S*A.

Also I watched more Kkotboda Namja (up to ep 8). I can't love this drama any more than I already do. It is just WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY tooo cute!! I heart the characters soooo hard! So you'll probly see me discussing more of my thoughts on this drama in upcoming posts.

And I also wanna post about my trip. So hopefully, I'll have some time this week. X3

And I've yet to pack. Let alone prepare all my stuff for tomorrow.

all weekend long until the end of the Inauguration!

I'm really excited!!
There are so many events going on over here, it's just crazy. @0@
But it's great to see that the center of all the excitement and happenings is all taking place here in DC. It's really cool!

I'm still trying to figure out my plans for Inauguration Day though.
All month long they've been talking about how crowded the trains will be and the bridges into Washington, DC will mostly all be closed. It'll be really rough.

Not to mention the estimated crowd of 2 million expected show up. Wooo...I'm just pooped thinking of the chaos of it all. If I do decide to go I'm going to have to dress really warmly 'cause it'll be pretty cold out there on Tuesday. The one thing I need is a long coat. But I left that in Japan. I may have use one of my really old ones if I can find it. If not, I'll prolly have to borrow my moms.

But yeah, let the festivities begin!

All aboard the Obama Express!!~~ o (^O^)o
